Traditions

We are mixing together all the best Persian and Danish traditions!

  • Bride plays hard to get: It is customary in Persian culture for the bride to be asked for her consent three times before she answers. This is to symbolize the groom's journey of earning his wife's love ❤️
  • Honey-kissed lips to sweeten forever: The couple dabs a bit of honey on their finger and then presses it to the other's lips toward the end of the ceremony, the action is meant to symbolize their promise to be a source of sweetness in the others life 😍
  • Jacket lockdown: Men do not take off jackets before the groom 🤵🏻
  • Kiss brigade: If the groom leaves the room, all the men must line up to kiss the bride! 👰🏼‍♀️ And if the bride steps out, the women will do the same for the groom! 💋
  • Knife and fork frenzy: If the guests start to bang their knives and forks on the table, the newlyweds have to kiss each other – but they must do this standing on their chairs! 😅
  • Secrets under the table: If the guests start to stamp their feet on the floor, the newlyweds must kiss, but this time under the table!! 😉
  • Sock sabotage: When it’s time, all the guests will stand in a circle around the newlyweds and clap as the couple begin to dance.  After the dance: the men closest to the groom will pick up the groom at the end of the bridal waltz, take off his shoes and cut the toes off his socks 🧦
  • Wedding Knife Dance: A lively Persian wedding tradition where dancers playfully tease the couple by dancing with the knife needed to cut the wedding cake. The couple must "bribe" the dancers with money or gifts to eventually receive the knife 🍰
